The sixth window in the sanctuary symbolizes the gift from which all gifts flow, The Resurrection. It breaks forth from the tomb demonstrating that God’s glory has power over all things even death. It is the promise that we too have been born anew by God’s grace to give testimony of new life in Jesus Christ.

The two Resurrection windows were donated in loving memory of Jim Tjaden by his family. Jim was deeply committed to the ministry of Charleswood United Church and was a brother to all who entered here. His form of witness was most often the thankless tasks that go unheeded but are so essential to our communal life. Whether that meant manning a barbecue or washing the windows, or helping out someone in trouble in a quiet, anonymous way, Jim served the Lord with dignity and grace and we have all benefited from it.
