This Fall at CUC

 

 

With September upon us we are looking forward to a program year that is full, fun, and faithful. Please be aware of the following September dates:

 

Church School returns on Sunday, September 10 at 10:00. Our Children’s Ministry Director, Rosalie Finch will eagerly greet children between the ages of 4 and 14 for an hour of fun and faith filled activity.

 

Senior Choir is open to all with a love of singing. Rehearsals resume on Thursday, September 7 at 7:30 PM. Newcomers are most welcome.

 

Seekers is our Tuesday morning Bible Study and it begins a new season on September 12 at 9:30 in the Board Room. Seekers is a time of fellowship, prayer, and conversation as we make our way through a book of the Bible.

 

NEW PROGRAM – Still Waters: A Grief Support Fellowship – is a monthly gathering for people coping with sorrow in any form. Led by Michael Wilson, Still Waters is an opportunity to share, listen, reflect, pray, and otherwise work towards the healing of a broken heart. Still Waters meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 1:30 PM beginning Wednesday, September 27.

 

Our annual School Supply Drive is going on now. You have until Sunday, September 10 is bring supplies for student’s whose families can use a little help in preparing their elementary school age children for school this fall. Michael’s involvement in the wider church has included ministry with children and youth, membership on the National Division of World Outreach, supervision of campus ministry, and the Ten Days for Global Justice National Committee. He has been blessed by the opportunity to represent the United Church of Canada in the Bahamas, Cuba, and Africa on different occasions. Michael has taught at the University of Winnipeg – Faculty of Theology and is past President of the Conference of Manitoba and North Western Ontario.
